Director of Fundraising and External Affairs

 

Galapagos Charter School is searching for an individual with the experience and motivation to develop a million dollar fund raising program.

Responsibilities:

• Participate with Executive team to establish fundraising priorities

• Develop and manage implementation of fundraising strategy for Galapagos Charter School

• Create and implement strategy to identify prospective donors from multiple sources, including individuals, corporations and foundations, and oversee relationship management activities

• Manage all external communications including media, PR and with donors and partner organizations; represent Galapagos at key events.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will be a seasoned development professional with a strong interest in quality education for urban youth with the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree and/or fundraising certification preferred

• 6 years progressively responsible fundraising experience (education fundraising experience preferred) and ability to demonstrate successful experience in the creation and management of a multi-million dollar fundraising campaign

• Exceptional organizational and planning skills; strong writing and communication skills; interpersonal skills; and an ability to handle a multitude of tasks and deadlines.

• Ability to develop, maintain and grow relationships while working effectively with people from diverse backgrounds, including staff, consultants, board members, and business and community leaders

• Be self-motivated, able to recognize and communicate strategic opportunities, and able to work collaboratively in a results-orientated, data-driven environment.

• Resourcefulness, creativity, capacity for hard work, and a sense of humor will help make the candidate successful in this position of crucial responsibility.
