Teacher Aide

Catalyst Charter School is seeking
a certified teacher for one of their 5th grade classrooms. Catalyst is a charter school in the Lawndale neighborhood on Chicago's West Side serving grades 3-6.
The Teacher Aide at Catalyst Schools works with a teacher team to implement the curriculum and ensure the success of the students at the grade level in which he/she is working. The Teacher Aide is responsible to the teacher of the classroom to which he/she is assigned, the Principal and other designated administrative staff.
Duties of the Teacher Aide include:
• Helping the teachers plan and implement classroom activities
• Preparing by becoming familiar with course texts and materials
• Taking on duties as assigned by classroom teachers and administrative staff
• Working one on one with individual students as assigned by the classroom teachers
• Assist teachers by providing some secretarial assistance (e.g. making copies, typing necessary teacher generated classroom materials, etc.)
• Communicate with teachers about students’ needs and progress
Requirments:
High School Diploma Experience working with children Ages 5-14 Preferred: Associates Degree and/or coursework in elementary education
