Aspira Early College High School is seeking a Math Teacher for the 2008-2009 school year.

Job Description:

Provide a learning environment that encourages and motivates the student to learn. Provide individual help to students to maintain satisfactory progress. Involve both students and parents in the evaluation of academic and social goals and the formation of the Individualized Academic Educational Plan (IAEP). Demonstrate a commitment to design principles of common intellectual mission, personalization and real-world connections and actively engage in reflective practice. Prepare quarterly, weekly and daily lesson plans. Encourage and enforce the school behavior and attendance policies. Work with the school advisors in meeting the needs of students. Meet with students, parents, teachers and counselors as appropriate. Maintain and report accurate student records (attendance, progress reports and grades). Document any inappropriate behavior and report it accordingly. Utilize the services of partner agencies effectively to serve students and families. Attend staff meetings, in-services, open houses, parent conferences, and other activities. Display the highest ethical and professional behavior, standards and judgment. Maintain positive, cooperative, and mutually supportive relationships when working with students, parents, school personnel and agencies associated with the school. Other duties as assigned.
