Full Description:
1. Supervises and evaluates classroom instruction
- Observe teaching methods
- Review instructional objectives
- Examine learning materials
2. Increase student achievement
3. Attract, support, grow and retain a talented staff
4. Manage and implement school model and network priorities
5. Oversight of staff orientation and professional development
6. Develop, implement and interpret personnel policies
7. Oversight and prioritize annual budget and manage associated processes
8. Oversight of employee processes i.e. new hires, time sheets, etc.
9. Develop and maintain positive relationships with families to positively impact
student retention rates
10. In accordance with Perspectives’ code of discipline and procedures, ensures and supports the fair and equitable implementation of student discipline procedures
11. Develops strategies, approaches and plans for students who exhibit at-risk behaviors
12. Ensures an effective flow of communication between Perspectives staff and the community
13. Supervises all school activities and events i.e. dances, concerts, etc.
Requirements:
- Master’s degree from an accredited college or university; education leadership certification preferred
- 2-3 years experience as an Assistant Principal; diverse school experiences preferred, 5 years experience supervising professional and paraprofessional staff
- 5 years of teaching experience
- Proven communication skill excellence – both written and verbal
- Proven ability to work well with diverse constituents
- Proven ability to exercise good judgment and function independently in the conduct of position responsibilities
- Experience in strategic planning
- Experience working in highly sensitive situations and maintaining confidential information
- Proven organizational skills
