Cristina Vera, Communications Director
With over six years of experience in public relations and marketing, Cristina is responsible for INCS' communications efforts. In her most recent position as Assistant Director of Communicatons for the Chicago Park District, she was instrumental in merging the District's marketing and press departments to create one communications office designed to streamline efforts and provide a more strategic and integrated approach.
Most notably, Cristina received a Golden Trumpet Award (2006) in the community relations category for her work on the City of Chicago's Head Start enrollment campaign.She led the City's efforts to increase Latino enrollment in the early education program for low-income families. Additionally, her communications efforts at the Chicago Department of Children and Youth Services (CYS) in 2004 thrust the newly created City department into the public's eye as a lead agency in child development.
