Some charter school teams choose to contract with a charter management organization (CMO) or educational management organization (EMO) to help operate the school. Note: CMOs or EMOs working in Illinois charter schools must be nonprofit organizations.
Some charter teams also choose not to use a CMO/EMO. INCS does not advocate for or against CMOs—this is a decision for your design team. For reference, we have listed several CMOs/EMOs that currently operate charters in Illinois:
