Regardless of what vehicle you use to communicate with your elected officialsin-person meetings, phone calls, lettersthe key to successful grassroots advocacy is to view your communication as part of an ongoing relationship.
Ongoing, periodic communication will help you build a long-term relationship and increase the influence you have with your decision-maker. Throughout the year, you can:
- Communicate with your decision-maker often
- Meet with your decision-maker at your local charter school
- Invite your decision-maker to charter school events
- Attend your decision-maker's events and town hall meetings
- Recruit others
