Academic Intervention Teacher – 2023-24 school year

Qualifications:
Professional Educator’s License (PEL)
Proven track record of improving student achievement in reading/math
At least 3 years classroom teaching experience
Responsibilities
Collaborate with classroom teachers and other instructional leaders on matters relating to reading and math instruction and work with teachers individually to identify the literacy and math needs of students, to set learning goals and targets, and to problem solve with teachers to develop best practices for continuous academic growth of students.
In collaboration with the Director of MTSS, design and implement interventions for students and write plans detailing methods and materials.
Work with the classroom teacher to monitor student progress and help teachers diagnose reading/math strengths and weaknesses; Observe students’ performance, and record relevant data to assess progress and assist teachers with the collection of data, analysis of data results and support the sharing of findings with all staff.
Conduct student assessments to identify those eligible for intervention services, to plan
instruction, and/or to assist staff members in learning various assessment techniques.
Assess the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required.
Maintain and submit accurate and up-to-date management records of all students’ interventions and progress.
Provide direct instruction to students using a variety of instructional techniques and materials consistent with content standards and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups.
Provide consultant/collaborative services to classroom teachers, model “best” instructional practices, and team teach as appropriate to support individuals or groups of students in learning or transferring effective strategies.
Attend professional development to enhance knowledge of literacy/math pedagogy and content and MTSS intervention strategies.
Proactively collaborate with families to develop and implement strengths-based intervention plans; Communicate regularly with families to update on progress and provide resources for at-home learning.
Perform other responsibilities as may, from time to time, be assigned by the direct supervisor (Director of MTSS)
