Position Title: Academic Interventionist

Reports To: School Principal

Start Date: Immediately

Position Description:

A Distinctive Schools Interventionist will analyze assessment data and provide push-in and pull-out research-based interventions in core curricular areas. An Interventionist will collaborate with classroom teachers in order to coordinate instructional efforts. This person will:

Plan, prepare, and develop various instructional materials based on student need

Prepare lessons based on student target area and prescribed curriculum

Has a mindset of using restorative justice approach with discipline

Enforce behavior modification and personal development programs, under the supervision of special education instructors, psychologists, or speech-language pathologists

Present subject matter to students using lectures, discussions, or supervised role-playing methods from prescribed curriculum

Tutor and assist children individually or in small groups in order to help them master skills and to reinforce learning concepts presented by teachers

Monitor progress to ensure all students are demonstrating high rates of growth

Maintain accurate and complete records of students’ progress and development

Participate in problem-solving RTI meetings and teacher-parent conferences regarding students’ progress or needs

Use Mileposts system to create intervention plans for students on caseload

Work closely with team members and parents to best meet the needs to students

Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree

Substitute Teacher or Paraprofessional License
