Responsible for budgeting, accounting, internal audits, and compliance. Supervises and manages all functions of the Business Office, including but not limited to accounting, payroll, purchasing, benefits, accounts payable, risk management, bid management, fixed asset tracking. Monitors internal control processes to ensure that financial transactions, compliance, and regulatory activities are properly executed and reported. Works with the CLCS Cabinet and Board of Directors on strategic financial planning, analysis, and business modeling. Provides leadership to staff responsible for building and grounds, transportation (2 buses), and food services.
Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
Experience in accrual and or cash accounting methods in public school or as an auditor of school districts
Effective written and oral communication skills
Ability to maintain a positive public relations image
Knowledge of Excel and Sage 50 Accounting software
Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Chief School Business Official (CSBO) Endorsement (Preferred)
Senior-level or CFO experience (Preferred)
Awareness of Social Security, Medicare, Federal, and State tax regulations. Worker’s compensation, liability, and unemployment compensation report processing and procedures
