The Director of Corporate Engagement will be responsible for acquiring and managing Chicago Tech Academy’s relationships with new and existing corporate partners and donors to support the school’s real-world learning program, volunteer program, and fundraising activities. The Director of Corporate Engagement will serve on the school’s fundraising team and post-secondary planning team and assist in the development and monitoring of goals, specifically those related to career readiness.
Real World Learning Program (60%):
Work with the Senior Director of Philanthropy & Corporate Engagement, post-secondary team and teaching staff to help define strategy, goals, and objectives for the real-world learning program
Oversee the design and implementation of a robust Real World Learning and Corporate Engagement program that reflects curriculum goals and benchmarks including minimum requirements for student engagement and participation in Real World Learning activities
Oversee all activities of the Corporate Ambassador (or similar) Program including establishing sustainable processes for internships/mentorships, collaborating with school staff in designing and executing on internship opportunities (taking into account learning objectives and conflicting educational needs) and participating in internal school review and approval process.
Procure, design, and schedule outside speakers for power lunch speaker series, and other classes and programs
Participate in staff professional development and curriculum project planning in order to understand how external partners can best augment and support classroom projects
Identify, plan, and manage student engagement experiences with external partners such as field trips, job shadow/career days, internships, innovation challenges, and customized project-based learning experiences
Coordinate with teachers and students to ensure attendance and chaperones at real-world learning program activities
Help define and design internship project experiences for students and corporate partners
Define and expand the Corporate Ambassador program
Acquire and manage internship partners, including the execution of all partner agreements and payments, training of corporate partners and mentors, coordination of intern monitoring/review process, and payment of student stipends.
Serve on the school’s post-secondary leadership team
Oversee the placement and identification of summer and annual internship experiences for current and former students.
Work with the Sr. Director of Corporate Engagement to define strategy, goals, and objectives for corporate sponsorship and fundraising programs
Define packaged and custom sponsorship levels for corporate partners
Solicit and close sponsorships from corporate partners.
Assist in grant writing.
Serve as the co-event manager for Little Black Dress Night and primary school liaison for T4Youth and SmartBet..
Advance ChiTech’s image and model by serving as an active ambassador within the corporate community, including industry associations, business networking groups, and economic development organizations
Volunteer Management (10%):
Define overall goals and strategies for the volunteer program.
Work with ChiTech teachers and staff to identify ongoing and project-based volunteer opportunities
Promote volunteer opportunities to corporate partners
Recruit and engage individual volunteers and mentors
Coordinate scheduling, orientation, and monitoring process for all volunteer experiences.
Assist in managing the annual budget for real-world learning program, volunteer programs, and events.
Ensure timely and accurate tracking and reporting of real-world learning and volunteer program activity.
Design and manage the student ambassador program
Assist with community engagement and community outreach activities
Create and update annual corporate engagement marketing materials

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Business, Non-profit Leadership or other related fields
At least two years of program management, development, fundraising, philanthropy and/or marketing and communications experience preferred
Superb organizational and time management skills with excellent attention to detail and independent follow through in a fast-paced environment
Strong public speaking and presentation skills
Experience designing programs for high school students including writing curriculum
