Come join the team at ASPIRA for the new school year. Direct English Language Learner services, activities and related educational programs

Coordinate testing for English Language Learner to measure effectiveness of curriculum or services and to interpret English learner’s intellectual and social development and group, and school progress
Formulate and design procedures to determine if program objectives are being met
Develop questionnaires and interviews school staff and administrators to obtain information about curriculum and instruction
Bilingual Spanish preferred.
Evaluate data and prepares narrative and statistical reports as required
Formulate recommendations and procedures for current and proposed units of instruction
Develop in-service training program for staff and parents
Advise principal in the evaluation of ELL teachers for the purpose of carrying out objectives within areas of responsibility
Act as liaison and coordinate services with Chicago Public Schools to provide appropriate services to students and staff and address related issues
Establish and maintain an English language learner’s library of resources at each campus
Maintain positive, cooperative, and mutually supportive relationships with the central administration, parents, and representatives of resource agencies
Display the highest ethical and professional behavior and standards when working with students, parents, school personnel, and agencies associated with the school
If not ESL endorsed, Applicant is willing to commit to enroll into an ESL program during the first year at ASPIRA.
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a related field. Prefer a Master’s Degree.

A minimum of two years of related experience with teachers of high schools, urban school setting preferred
Expertise in curriculum development and educational policies and practices of English language learners
Hold a teaching certificate and English Language Learner Endorsement
Excellent interpersonal, leadership and organizational skills
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to work collaboratively
Bilingual preferred (Spanish/English)
