Great Lakes Academy Front Office Manager
Great Lakes Academy is a high-performing charter school established in 2014, and operating K-6 in SY2019-20, building towards K-8 in SY2021-22. Our mission is to prepare all of our students with the fundamental academic skills, critical thinking ability, and strength of character to excel in high school, college, and a career of their choice. For the 2019-2020 academic year we are serving students in grades K-6 and will continue to add a grade level annually to reach K-8. We are uniquely suited to create change on the South Side of Chicago and have set ambitious goals for our scholars.
We are seeking a high capacity, fiercely positive, detail-oriented Front Office Manager to lead a friendly, well-oiled Front Office.
Plans and manages GLA towards strategic and tactical excellence in the front office, using and improving established systems
Builds, manages, and deploys his/her Front Office team to plan and execute excellent parent outreach (i.e. newsletters, school events, student recruitment and enrollment)
Utilizes multiple on-line platforms to track, coordinate and analyze student information
Reviews school operation performance to align with GLA’s vision for school systems
Manages the Front Office, including overseeing the work of a year-round School Secretary
Places and tracks and confirms payment on all the school’s supply orders, both office and classroom
Reports to the Director of Operations and works in tandem with GLA’s leadership
Ensures that all staff members have the materials they need to do their best work
Supports all student files, including report card tracking, printing, disbursement
Ensures 100% student files with all necessary compliance paperwork
Manages enrollment process from application to full enrollment and class rostering
Supports school online rosters across platforms
Ensures 100% enrollment
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Self-starter with a drive to make things happen
Highly organized and able to easily find the most efficient way to solve a problem
Creative problem solver who can think critically about school systems and procedures and constantly improve
Skillful manager and team leader
Tech-savvy and able to train others to use tech platforms
Ability to stay unflappable when things don’t unfold as planned.
Bachelor’s degree is required.
Minimum of two years of experience working in a similar capacity, encompassing both people management and project management, with a demonstrated track record of success. School experience is a plus, but not essential.
Belief in and alignment with Great Lakes Academy’s core beliefs and educational philosophy is non-negotiable.
