Civitas Education Partners (CEP), exists to provide equal access to opportunities that break the cycle of poverty by leading and supporting K-12 college preparatory schools.  CEP is a school management organization that operates four campuses of Chicago International Charter School (CICS), CICS Ralph Ellison High School, CICS Northtown Academy High School, CICS Wrightwood Elementary School, and CICS Chicago Quest High School.  CEP aims to provide its teams and students with an exceptional educational experience rooted in high expectations for student achievement and civic responsibility.

Position Title: School Principal
Reports to: Chief Executive Officer
Location: CICS Northtown Academy

Job Description:

In alignment with our mission, the School Principal is accountable for the instructional, operational, and administrative Leadership at the Northtown campus.  With a primary focus on instructional leadership the School Principal provides all the necessary teacher support to maximize student growth and achievement.  The School Principal is responsible for safety and security at the campus, as well as operational and financial efficiency.  The School Principal is accountable for continuous improvement and academic success as measured by CPS’ School Quality Rating Policy (SQRP).

Engages with staff, students, and parents to achieve school goals
Utilizes meaningful and reliable data to inform decision making in instructional programming and methods
Works to inspire and facilitate connected learning and the integration of technology
Reviews and modifies (as needed) systems, practices, and policies to consistently support school operations, finances, and facilities to guide strategic planning and efficiencies
Embraces change as an opportunity for improvement
Designs and implements support for rigorous and effective instruction and learning
Builds and maintains collaborative partnerships with all stakeholders
Promotes high performance and behavioral standards in a school culture with a focus on student performance and growth
Strong written and verbal communication
Creating schedules (i.e. master, student, etc.)
Other duties as assigned
An advanced degree (required) in education (preferred)
Professional educators license (required)
5 years of classroom experience in an urban school district or network (required)
2 years of school leadership experience that includes supervision and evaluation of teachers (required)
Bi-lingual Spanish/English (preferred)
