The mission of Moving Everest Charter School is to create a school that dramatically transforms the lives of K-8 students and prepares them for success in college and in life through: the delivery of a rigorous and personalized academic program, a focus on holistic education and the development of strong character.

Background:

Moving Everest Charter School opened its doors in August 2015 with 176 students enrolled in kindergarten and first grade in a newly constructed school building in the Austin neighborhood of Chicago. This fall, we will reach our capacity of 800 students in grades K-8.

We need you to come along side our students and teachers and provide high impact, individual and small group instruction and assistance to our scholars with identified learning needs both in the classroom as well as in a resource setting.

The special education teacher will provide support to the instructional process by serving as a teacher with specific responsibility for developing diverse learners success in academics, interpersonal skills and other activities. The special education teacher will collaborate closely with all other teachers at Moving Everest Charter School to ensure the success of diverse learners. The teacher will be responsible for all execution and documentation aligned to the implementation of the scholar’s IEP plans. The teacher is responsible for planning, preparing, and delivering instruction, and monitoring scholar progress to determine instructional needs. The teacher reviews scholar progress and changes instruction to ensure high-progress learning for every child. The teacher is responsible for establishing a strong classroom culture in collaboration with the members of grade level teams. In addition, the teacher will be required to complete all other professional responsibilities to ensure the success of scholars and Moving Everest Charter School.

You must currently possess a special education endorsement.
