Charter School Authorizer Resources
The National Association of Charter School Authorizers (NACSA) is the leader in advancing and strengthening the ideas and practices of authorizing so students and communities thrive. They provide numerous resources for authorizers to help them strengthen their own practices.
The Illinois State Board of Education provides a robust list of important criteria on their Charter School Authorizer Criteria Dashboard.
According to Section 105 ILCS 5/27A-7.10 of the Illinois School Code, when an authorizer formally approves a charter school for an initial or renewal charter agreement, the authorizer must provide ISBE with formal notification to begin the charter certification process. Learn more here.
While charter schools are granted flexibility in many areas, they are still required to follow certain laws and policies. Learn more here.
INCS will provide webinars and other resources throughout the Charter Schools Program grant, including documents from INCS quarterly authorizer convenings.
