Instructional Assistant 2024-2025

Alain Locke Charter School is currently looking for a full-time Instructional Assistant for the 2024-2025 school year. This position would start July 8, 2024. Alain Locke runs on an extended school year calendar with breaks spread out throughout the school year. The position would begin July 8, 2024, for the start of our staff summer retreat. The 2024-25 school year for Alain Locke starts July 15th.

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
 Assist instructor in facilitating daily instructional activities and providing classroom management support.
 Facilitate small group or one-to-one instruction under the direction of the classroom instructor.
 Participate in professional development and apply techniques learned into daily instruction.
 Manage and provide instruction independently during instructor absence.
 Contribute to the accomplishment of school and classroom goals.

PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS
 Experience working with children in a school setting.
 Strong time management skills.
 Ability to understand and carry out oral and written directions.
 Able to utilize materials effectively to enhance instruction.
 Able to adapt to different tasks as needed or requested.
 Demonstrates effective communication skills.
 Able to work in a collegial and collaborative manner with school personnel and parents.

**MAY PERFORM OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED**

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
 Associate degree or higher OR 60 semester hours of coursework OR Paraprofessional License/Endorsement
